Summary

A Professional Senior Teacher with 26 years, experience in Education I have worked in middle school and senior education in the faculty of Music, Drama, Instrumental Singing and Guitar and in a managerial position. I have a passion for motivating and empowering students to extend themselves through performance and practice in their chosen field of Music, Singing and dramatic performance. To date on my from return from Sydney I have been working on a relief/contract basis as a teacher in various subject areas, Music, PE, Drama, Science, Home Economics and at my previous school, Halls Head College. My teaching philosophy plays a central role in planning and execution of each of my lessons, with every lesson taking into consideration the level of understanding and personality of each student to make the learning experience a holistic one. My teaching career for the most part has been spent in the Northern Territory, which has been a rewarding experience, I enjoy working with teenagers in inspiring them to enjoy their journey in Performing arts using their experience as a platform to become confident in their chosen goal. I specialise in working with music ensembles, rock bands, singing ensembles, dramatic plays, theatrical productions and instrumental instruction (classical guitar and voice), all with the aim of providing students with the confidence to engage and perform to an audience. As a Practioner myself my passion for the Performing Arts has been enhanced by my personal experience in regular performances as a singer and actress in Darwin and Perth. I feel it is important to be involved in the arts in order to teach effectively. I look forward to the possibility of working in a new environment, using my passion of teaching young people in an area they want discover and become confident in.
