Salutation

Dear Jade

Body

Application for Deputy Director of Nursing,

I refer to the above-mentioned position as advertised on Seek and wish to formally express my interest. I possess all the essential selection criteria and qualifications required and believe I am sufficiently experienced to perform this role to a high standard. I am capable of facilitating all aspects of clinical operations at Bendigo Day Surgery. I am passionate about providing best practice care for patients and making a difference within my patients' lives and community. I also understand the importance of maintaining care standards and accreditations whilst balancing the expectations of directors and business leaders. I began my career as an enrolled nurse in 1997 and then undertook further studies, graduating as a registered nurse in 2008. I completed my peri-operative training with Mercy Private hospital in 2002 and have over 23 years of perioperative experience in both the public and private settings. In recent years, I have been fortunate enough to be placed within both leadership and managerial roles. Positions that I have embraced with positivity and enthusiasm, and whilst challenging at times, have managed many situations to a swift and satisfying resolution.I would describe myself as a 'people-focused' leader that understands the difficulties and dynamics that come with supervising staff and professionals alike. This level of responsibility has allowed me to further develop my interpersonal managerial skills whilst exposing me to all facets of business operations, which includes matters of governance, risk identification and mitigation, budget, asset management, reporting, and human resource responsibilities.

I have current experience including recruitment, investigation, managing workplace conflict and critical incidents, and reportable events. I understand the importance of workplace standards and safety and pride myself on early identification and intervention when it comes to arising issues.

I understand the importance of being able to influence others and guide them toward a cohesive multi-disciplinary team. I am committed to the ACORN standards and infection control. I have previously planned and prepared for various external audits and understand the importance of meeting industry standards.

I have the necessary skills and experience you require for such a position and would embrace the role with passion and professionalism should I be the successful applicant.

I look forward to the opportunity to meet and discuss my application further.

Yours sincerely

Debra Matricardi
