Declan Perry

Throughout my journey at Youngtown primary school I helped with a lot of leadership roles and responsibilities, I was a buddy mentor in year 5 this role included assisting younger peers with troubles in break times and friendship problems.

I ended year 6 with 3 awards including growth in Math, the personal and social capability award and also won the kings meadows high school king and crown scholarship.

As I’ve transitioned to high school I believe these qualities have assisted me to be the best person I can be, this current year in grade 7 I have become a transition leader which involves assisting the high school in transitioning students from year 6 across 6 feeder schools into getting to know everything there is to know about coming into high school.

I was also recently invited to a leadership program for selected grade 7 boys which has taught me strong values in leadership and teamwork.

I also received a most improved award for the end of term 2.

I feel as though all of these qualities and my motivation to be better ensure that I am ready to enter the workforce.
