  • I transitioned from a residential role to a FIFO role at Mt Whaleback after 9 years living in Newman as my two girls and wife wanted to be closer to our extended family.
  • I am employed as a Maintenance Rebuild Supervisor responsible for the daily management and supervision of a team of 10 Tradesmen.
  • My role within the Newman rebuild center is to ensure safety policies and procedures are followed and continuous improvement culture is sustained within the teams.

  • This role has seen several employers through the process of acquisition.
  • Portside Fabrication the initial employer was acquired by HWE Mining who in turn was then acquired by BHPBIO.
  • Although ownership has changed, the roles and responsibilities have remained consistent throughout, these being daily management and supervision of a shutdown team of roughly 25 trades and trade assistants.
  • Other duties include assisting site planners with shutdown preparations.
  • A 2/2 roster services site shutdown needs, and I have been involved since the inception of this service.
