  • In Machkund Hydro Electrical Scheme all the dams i.e
  • Jalaput main dam, spill way, diversion dam, nonpressure tunnel, pressure tunnel are all under the control of SE power house
  • No separate irrigation department is there to look after
  • Generating units: Stage I: 3 x 17 MW = 51 MW ( 1955 commissioned) Stage II: 3 x 23 MW = 69 MW (1958 commissioned) Total = 120 MW
  • SE is to look after all the works of mechanical, electrical, civil along with quarters, welfare, hospitals, engineers, O&M staff, pensioners of the three camps Jalaput, Machkund, and Onukudelli
  • Procurement of materials , spares and consumables by placing orders as per the indents received from mechanical/electrical/civil wings
  • Maintenance of three hospitals along with doctor and associated medical staff and procurement of medicine
  • Job orders are to be issued to emergency works on limited tender in order to reduced machine downtime
  • Total electrical distribution, three phase 11 KV/415 V distribution transformers along with 11 KV lines, three phase four wire LT lines in three camps are also covered under the control of generation head.

  • Testing and troubleshooting of CTs, PTs, Motor Protection Relays, Neutral Displacement Relay, Definite Time Over Current Relay, instantaneous earth fault relays, U/V and O/V relays connected to HT motors as well as LT motors
  • Trouble shooting of mechanism problems of three phase 6.6 KV indoor type VCBs (BHEL, ABB, Seimens, NGF etc) for HT loads and three phase 415 indoor type ACBs for LT loads in all respects
  • Maintenance of 6.6 KV/415 BUS A, BUS B, BUS coupler breakers along with associated load breakers, troubleshooting of control and power circuits
  • Auto change over of loads from BUS A to BUS B and vice versa by closing BUS coupler breaker in auto mode under the event of fault in any side for both 6.6 KV and 415 V BUS systems in order to maintain uninterrupted supply to the conveyers in service
  • Maintenance and troubleshooting of 6 nos wagon trippers and associated motors and their control circuits, power circuits, and protection relays
  • Maintenance of 6 nos static weigh bridges for weighment of coal in each wagon
  • Of which 4 nos Avery make and 2 nos Mettler and Tolledo along with 1 nos in motion weigh bridge of Avery make
  • 3 nos stacker reclaimers of which 2 noss Elecon make and 1 nos Thysun Krupp and associated AC and DC drives for controlling of forward and reverse motion of the stacker reclaimer
  • 9 nos belt weighers connected to the conveyer next to the coal bunker for knowing the weight of coal fed to the bunker
  • Well-versed with conveyer tripping like pull chord, belt sways, zero speed, capacitance probe systems etc
  • Raising of indents and procuring of various spares, consumables for emergency utilization and maintenance of sub stores in each subdivision
  • Maintenance of 6.6 KV / 415 V 2MVA power transformers of various makes to supply the power to various motors
  • Maintenance of 250 KVA, 100 KVA, 75 KVA, 50 KVA, 415/415 V unit ratio transformers for lighting as well as welding loads provided at MCCs, along the conveyers including underground conveyers from wagon tippler to bunker floor around 2 km length, railway marshalling yard lighting towers around 5 km area for receiving coal rakes for tippling
  • Maintenance of window type, split type ACs and water coolers at various locations
  • Maintenance and troubleshooting of various HT/LT, single core, and three phase power and control cables of various sizes
  • Maintenance of three phase 6.6 KV flexible trailing cable for stacker reclaimer with reeling and unreeling property on cable reeling drum and three phase LT trailing cables for 6 nos tripper
  • Side arm chargers, Bettle chargers for placing the coal wagon on the wagon tippler platform
  • Maintenance of BOBR conveyers along with paddle feeders and associated logic circuits
  • Belt weighers provided to boom conveyers of stacker reclaimer for knowing the weighment of stacked coal or reclaimed coal from the stock yard
  • Total O&M staff administration control from JPA to foremen grade I is under the control of powers of DE.

  • Periodical testing of dissolved gas analysis of power transformer oil
  • Every month recording of breakdown value of power transformer oil
  • Testing and commissioning of high voltage, medium voltage, and low voltage rating circuit breakers
  • Troubleshooting of mechanical/electrical closing and tripping of circuit breakers of all voltage levels of various manufacturers.
