Hobbies & Interests

Connection to Country 

I am a proud Indigenous man from the Mandandanji Mob in Queensland.

I have a close connection to country given to me by my father through his life spent living and working in the Australian bush.

Growing up, I spent most weekends in the bush with my Dad, and now whenever possible, I take my family hiking and camping to keep that connection to country going.


Sport

I love all sports and have participated at high levels throughout my life, but in particular, I love Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. 

I have been training in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu for the last nine years. During that time, I attained my Brown Belt training at one of the highest-regarded BJJ gyms in the world. I compete in Australia's major tournaments and have won the 2022 National Championships in the adult lightweight division. 

I have three daughters who have all trained in BJJ and when possible, I also help to teach the Kid's classes. We are currently working to set up a Victorian based training organisation to give local indigenous kids the opportunity to train in the sport.
