I started my teaching journey before leaving high school with part time work at local Childcare Centres and Nanny positions. After leaving school I completed my Certificates and Diploma in Childcare and Education before continuing my studies and completing my Bachelor in Teaching- Early Childhood.
I acquired my first Teaching position in a State school in Brisbane before heading out west to do a country service. Here is where I had the worst and the best time of my life….A real life journey, mentally and spiritually. I became a part of an indigenous community, grew as a person and professional. I met the love of my life and moved to another country town to be with him and started a position at my first Catholic school. This is where we stayed for a further six years. Three children later, lots of travel, and fantastic life adventures we began a life in Dalby to be closer to family. After quite a lengthy time off teaching it was both refreshing and challenging to be back relief teaching. Our next adventure was to get that little bit closer to family so we moved to Toowoomba.
Since moving to Toowoomba, I have taken various contracts at schools before obtaining a permanent position at St Thomas More’s Catholic school for a five year period. In 2022 I decided to put our busy family life first and step back into relief teaching once again. This has given me the freedom to spend time with my family in these important years but to continue working in the profession I love.
