I’ve been working at Oaky Creek Coal for the nearly 3 years with Mitchell Services doing Gas Drainage Drilling and within my time I’ve managed to work my way up to the Supervisor role through hard work and dedication. I’m very passionate about the industry and would like to take a step forward in my career and get a role in Production. Goal of mine is to be apart of the Mines Rescue with the end goal of becoming an ERZ Controller as I want to be involved. I’ve worked in the plumbing and construction industry for over 8 years and completed my apprenticeship as a plumber. I am hard and quality driven worker, always up for a challenge! I wanted to branch off from the plumbing industry and challenge myself and grow in another hands on and physically demanding role in a new industry. After making the choice to leaving my trade I’ve put my heart and soul into my mining career, I believe I have the skills and dedication to be successful in this line of work. I’m very open and eager to learn and develop new set of skills if given the opportunity. As I live in Sydney I feel like Appin Colliery Will be very fitting for me as I’d love to be home every night.

- Taught me all about how the gas drainage works drilling the coal seam
- As we are ahead of schedule with our drilling we have helped out other crews which had helped me get a good knowledge of what happens around the pit
- I’ve helped bolt up the Longwall, Longwall Moves, Secondary Support and Development
