- reviewing new admissions and referral from the emergency department
-responding to rapid response calls as part of the MET team,
-management of cardiothoracic, trauma, neurosurgical and medical patients.
Proficient in procedures including;
- Ultrasound guided vascular access,
- Arterial line insertion,
- Central and PICC line insertion
- Dialysis catheter insertion
- Abdominal paracentesis and lumbar puncture. Proficient in bedside TTE, lung ultrasound and airway skills
- Ventilator setup and troubleshooting, using Maquet and GE ventilators
- Non-invasive ventilation
- CRRT initiation with Baxter prismaflex
- Sedation
Completed two rotations as a medical registrar at South East Regional Hospital (general medicine) and North Canberra hospital (MAPU). Roles included;
- Admitting acute presentations from the emergency department
- Independent rounding on acute medical admissions
- Supervising junior medical staff and leading teaching and simulation sessions.
- Leading the multidisciplinary team in the ward setting to ensure best patient outcomes
