Responsibilities

  • Advise to the staff on professional engineering and associated matters effecting the maintenance and reliability of the Heavy mobile equipment. Ex (Dump trucks, Armored tanks - both track and wheel),
  • Analyze engineering work requests and consult with stakeholders to create designs meeting technical specifications and customer requirements, Manage engineering projects and deliver them on time.
  • Support power electronics and e-machine development teams internally with electrical technical input.
  • Create design verification plans, test procedures, and report.
  • Performing tasks according to IET regulations and ISO standards.
  • Supervise installation, repair inspection and modification of all Electrical and mechanical related equipment and vehicle fleet.
  • Guide to purchase of repair parts and expendable items for the workshop day to day requirements.
  • Provide electrical knowledge and design support to the wider electrification teams internally.
  • Perform detailed electrical design calculations.
  • Attending technical evaluation committees.
  • Bid submissions, preparation of total cost estimates, tender drawings for other projects.
  • Maintaining ERP (check SCM and SAP)

Workshop Electrical Engineer - Electrical & Mechanical Engineers Base workshop -  Colombo Sri Lanka

  • Assembling, installation and commissioning of capacitor bank for power factor correction of SLEME Base workshop - Colombo.
  • Calculation of lux level and introducing LED lighting system instead of Florescent tube light system to SLEME Base workshop - Colombo.
  • Successfully contributed to critical projects, ensuring reliable and efficient energy delivery as well as, armed Heavy vehicle development projects with sophisticated technology for the use of UN peacekeeping operations according to the standards. (ISO 45001 and NIJ standards)
  • Engaging both internal stakeholders (such as Design, Contracts and Community Engagement teams) and external stakeholders.
  • Creation, management and maintaining of project documents such as Project Management Plans, Control Risk registers, Materials Management, forecasting/tracking spreadsheets, Change Control Request applications and closeout reports.
  • Effectively managing all forms of communications channels reducing the risk impact of miscommunication and mishandling of information.
  • Checking electrical drawings for accuracy and errors.

  • Supervise repair inspection and modification of all Electrical and mechanical Heavy mobile Equipment of the responsible equipment fleet. Ex (Dump trucks, Armored tanks-both track and wheel)
  • Fabrication of low cost multi choppers to prepare compost in Anuradhapura area for the requirement of department of agriculture Sri Lanka.
  • Design, installation and commissioning of solar power system for the roof top of Electrical workshop to minimize its energy consumption.
  • Installation of overload protection system for the transformer of 62 Division Camp.
  • Design and fabrication of microcontroller-based electricity saving system to 62 division camp premises.
  • Preparation of monthly progress reports, method statements and QA/QC reports., Prepare progress, inspection and testing plans and reports and review operational and maintenance planning specifications to optimize asset performance and maintain cost reductions.
  • Handling of monthly Petty Cash expenditures.
  • Bid submissions, preparation of total cost estimates, review tender drawings and provide comments on constructability, operability, and maintainability of assets.
  • Provide specialist technical advice and guidance on the analysis of faults, failures and suboptimal asset performance and facilitate cost-effective remedial action in daily workshop tasks.
