  • From earthworks to formation, I direct subcontractors for bulk blinding (100m³), finished blinding (80m³), steel reinforcement (90 tons), and 40 MPa structural concrete (700m³ per foundation).
  • Concrete is placed using two pumps with 43-meter booms.
  • I oversee concrete and pump ordering, scheduling, managing quantities, labor coordination, traffic management, and water cart logistics.
  • I ensure all safety measures are enforced during pours, curing, and formwork stripping.
  • Additionally, I conduct three pre-start meetings daily with Hallett batching plant, CSF Concreters, and CSF reinforcement steel fixers to ensure everyone knows their roles and is aware of all relevant site activities.

  • Scope of works included: construction of new concrete slab for buildings including footings; fabricate install new structural steel columns and beam; construction of new external wall framing including external wall cladding; construction of new roof framing, metal roof deck, and rainwater drainage system to building; installation of new external windows and doors as per window and door schedules; construction of internal and external brick work walls as documented; construction of new flushed plasterboard partition walls to create functional rooms, zones and areas; supply and installation of new in-wall/ceiling building services plant/equipment; FF&E including electrical and lighting, comms, mechanical, hydraulics and fire.

  • The Largs North Bund facility safely receives, stores, handles and distributes a variety of fuels including Automotive Diesel Fuel, Unleaded Motor Spirit and Aviation Gasoline.
  • The intent of the Largs North Bund Upgrade project was to upgrade the compound to a level compliant with the relevant Standards Australia and associated regulations.
  • BMD was engaged for the second phase of the project and the scope of work included: construction of a new internal blockwork bund walls with designated walkways and external bund walls; application of concrete floor to the entire compound; installation of steel walkways and pipe supports; construction of external bund walls that were a combination of reinforced concrete walls and earthen bunds covered in concrete canvas.

  • BMD delivered construction works for the upgrade of the Liverpool Station stormwater infrastructure.
  • The scope of work involved: construction of a new 8 metre-deep pump station and valve chamber using sheet pile walls, cast in-situ reinforced concrete base, deck, and internal structure; construction of gravity stormwater pipes and pits in Liverpool Street and Eyre Street to connect the existing Liverpool Street pump station and network to the new pump station located in Eyre Street; construction of DN900 GRP pumping main from the new pump station, along Eyre Street to a new outfall at the foreshore, inclusive of outlet manifold and return pipework at the new pump station; construction of new switch room and generator hardstand, including installation of switchboard and associated equipment, and generators as well as all associated compound works located on King Street.

  • BMD was engaged to deliver construction works for the Gawler Place Redevelopment project, to improve the quality and function of the street, which was previously in poor condition, and to align it with the high quality of Rundle Mall.
  • The upgrade included Gawler Place North (North Terrace to Rundle Mall) and Gawler Place South (Rundle Mall to Grenfell Street), with the objective of establishing a contemporary, pedestrian focused link, connected to the heart of the Rundle Mall Precinct.
  • The key scope involved: demolition of existing roadways; installation of stormwater mains; installation of common service trench; construction of concrete pavements, granular pavements, asphalt pavements, extensive granite paving; installation of lighting; tree planting and seating under 25,000 ppd; management of extensive traffic/community staging.
  • Outcomes/involvement: BMD delivered the project over two months ahead of the program schedule.

  • Built in 1970 the Gawler Place U-Park is a nine level concrete framed car parking and retail complex in Adelaide.
  • BMD completed refurbishment works on the car park and the key scope involved: concrete floor remedial works; vehicular crash barrier upgrade and infill; new floor coating and line marking; relocation of exit boom gates and traffic islands.
  • Outcomes/involvement: BMD received positive feedback from both the City of Adelaide and the car park’s end users upon completion.
  • There was minimal disruption to the daily operation of the U-Park during construction and successful traffic coordination around work zones. Works were successfully staged to ensure that car park occupancy was not affected.

  • BMD delivered construction works for a two storey commercial development within the busy Rundle Mall in Adelaide city.
  • With a total building footprint encompassing 9.6 metres by 31 metres, and the new development abutting the adjoining properties, the project was undertaken within significant spatial and access constraints.
  • The scope of work included: demolition and asbestos removal in existing building; earthworks to basement; formwork, reinforcement, and concrete works; erection of structural steel and blockwork; installation of a speed wall system and construction of a timber stair system; installation of mechanical, electrical and hydraulic services; fit out of the internal space including alpolic cladding, fire windows, aluminium windows, roof and wall cladding, ceilings and linings, stone wall cladding, doors and door hardware, tiling, and painting; supply and installation of graphic window film to mall facing windows.
  • Outcomes/involvement: The project team worked collaboratively with subcontractors to utilise cranes inside the building. BMD delivered the project within the tight timeframe, with the building handed over before the busy Christmas period.

  • Moonta Street is located within the Chinatown precinct in Adelaide’s Central Market district.
  • The street serves as a connecting laneway that provides a significant pedestrian route and space for outdoor dining for more than 15,000 tourists and locals daily.
  • BMD was engaged to upgrade the laneway and replace the street’s ageing uneven paving and to create a high quality pedestrian environment befitting of the street’s profile.
  • Key works included: removal of the previous paving; construction of a new footpath (using locally sourced granite paving) and upgrade of road surfaces; installation of a new surface stormwater system; installation of new trees (Celtis Australis).

  • The project involved major safety upgrade to the existing concrete lined rock fill dam to meet ANCOLD requirements.
  • This included excavation of 300,00m3 of rock to widen the spillway by 40 metres, extension of the outlet tunnel and pipeworks by 50 metres, raising of the embankment crest including extension of the concrete face slab using slipform and significant concrete works - 32000m3 to line the spillway including temperature control to mass pours.
  • Construction of post tensioned anchors to the existing ogee slab was also undertaken.

  • The project involved reshape and make safe of severe undercutting in the outfall channel.
  • The channel was 400 metres long, 8 metres deep and 4-15 metres wide.
  • The design catered for 30m3/s of water travelling through the channel, which translated to water speeds of up to 10m/s with depths up to 3 metres.
  • 1000m3 of reinforced concrete was applied, 500m3 of reinforced shotcrete with 200 plus rock anchors to line areas of the base and walls.
  • Concrete structures include 12 drop structures incorporating nib walls and roughened base sections to reduce water energy and velocities.

  • The project replaced the previous overpass which was removed due to clashes with the rail electrification infrastructure.
  • Outcomes/involvement: Duncan was seconded from St Clair to ensure program of works were met within the short timeframe.
  • This included 22 days from first demolition to completion of track formation ready for placement of ballast.

  • The St Clair Railway Station was designed to facilitate the increase public transport demand from the ongoing housing development at St Clair.
  • This included 2 x120 metre platforms comprising of precast ramps, trans floors, retaining walls, structural steel and insitu black concrete decks.
  • The station shelters included two butterfly canopies with danpalol roofing as well as incorporating amenities and alpolic signage and extensive electrical works, including undertrack boring equipment room fit out PID screens and CCTV.
