I initially began working FIFO from Brisbane before relocating permanently to Perth, regularly flying to various mine sites across Western Australia. Drawing on my prior experience from the UK, I quickly adapted to the Australian working environment, gaining a solid understanding of linesman duties specific to local standards and designs. As I became more confident with Australian procedures and practices, I naturally took on greater responsibilities, including leading work teams. Within just six months of joining, I was promoted to Site Team Leader, And then Supervisor shortly after. A reflection of my strong work ethic, eagerness to learn, and demonstrated leadership capabilities.

Key Responsibilities in this Role:

  • Deliver high quality and tidy powerline builds with a pride and care.
  • Both 33kv and 11kv, single and dual circuit rebuilds/new builds.
  • Installed various switchgear and protective equipment at pole top and ground level.
  • Installed a number of different earthing arrangements on poles and in ground.
  • Led teams in successful projects including; Kens Bore Mineral Recourses 33kv new Build, Tuckabiana West Gold 11kv new build, Boddington Newmont refurbishment project, Beta Hunt West Gold 11kv new build, and Sunrise Dam Anglo Gold solar spur project.
