My time as an apprentice at Metrocool allowed me to get a wide range of experience from commercial and domestic split system installations, fault finding to general servicing and maintenance. What I consider my biggest strength is the ability to maintain and learn large sites remembering system locations and what serves where while maintaining effective communications between tenants /other trades and company office staff. Achieving site awareness results in any fellow techs who follow up on quoted works or breakdowns to feel comfortable calling myself / whoever's original maintenance site

- My first 2 years of my apprenticeship at Metrocool i was placed in the installation department to get a good understanding of what split system frame stage rough ins looked like and got a further understanding of the building process looked like.
- The start of the 3rd year of my apprenticeship i got the opportunity to get a place on the service department. experiencing and learning general maintenance site as well as breakdowns on split systems and package units. Also experiencing Metrocool installation warranty work fixing flares, gas leaks, water leaks, push fittings and press fittings
- Halfway through my 4th year i was given the opportunity to be a lead apprentice experiencing all the named above tasks with a 1st or 2nd year apprentice

- I was originally hired as front counter staff serving and packing orders then after a year of service got i got the opportunity to cross train as a cook at the back of house both positions giving me equal opportunity to learn both customer service and more of a physical role. I would on average work 20 hours weeks 3-4 shifts a week while completing high school

- As lead apprentice I achieved general maintenance of schools, car dealerships, small businesses, shopping centres, and more.
- As lead apprentice I achieved deep cleans of hi wall split systems consisting of isolation to power supply indoor fan scroll removal, coil cleans and general wiping of scroll housing.
- As lead apprentice I achieved deep cleans of cassette split systems consisting of isolation of power supply, removal of indoor cassette facia and PCB board, removal of fan guard and fan blade, with access to coil removed drain plug gave coil clean and gradually caught water at drain outlet.

- As lead apprentice I achieved effective communication both in technical reports and in person excelling in communicating quoted works, general maintenance reports and always noting down in internal tech notes what works has been completed and whats outstanding
- Collaborated with team of 6 in the rough in of VRV/VRF copper pipe, solid PVC / flexi drains and interconnect.
