Roles And Responsibilities

  • Assist in ensuring that the seismic energy source system and in-sea deflector systems operate within specifications during normal production.
  • Carry out assignments from Senior Handling Specialist/Engineer.
  • Ensure all applicable records and logs are maintained at all times.
  • Perform duties in accordance with the applicable components of the company Quality Management System pertaining to the Handling Department.
  • Assist in installation, operation, maintenance and repairs of all equipment including high-pressure air and hydraulic system within the department to comply with the manufacturer's specifications and company best practices, standards and schedules.
  • Perform all specified maintenance activities as defined in Company Maintenance Management System and report all scheduled and unscheduled maintenance into the system.
  • Keep the spare parts inventory updated at all times in the Maintenance Management System.
  • Select tools and equipment appropriate on a specific job.
  • Provide relevant information and feedback to supervisors.
  • Provide input to the supervisor regarding qualities and machine requirements.
  • Ensure that the department is supporting the overall acquisition process.
  • Organize and supervise machines and small boats inspection and maintenance.
  • Ensure to promote teamwork through actively assisting other departments and actively participate in innovative solutions to increase vessel efficiency and utilization.
  • Assist during provision and supply loading and port call shipment handling including operating crane, slinging and rigging, providing hand signals and using two-way radios during lifting operations.
  • Operate marine VHF radio both fixed and handheld equipment.
  • Participate in workboat operations as required. Including driving a small boat as a coxswain. This may require working hours beyond a normal shift length.
  • Keep progress of training and ensure that they are adhering to the Specialist training time frame as set out in the company training schedule.
