Elaine Hogg

• At MSIC my role is to be responsible for supervising clients before, during and after episodes of injecting substances.
• Management and treatment of overdoses if they arise during the clients episode of care and look after their well-being until they are safe to leave the service.
• Client engagement
• Working with clients with complex, intoxicated and challenging behaviors.
• Health assessments, health education, brief interventions and referral to other health and welfare services.
• Provide Client education around vein care, drug use, better injecting techniques and harm reduction strategies,
• Registration of clients on data base and data collection
• Maintaining accurate and objective documentation
• Providing clean injecting equipment to use on site and also to takeaway as required .
• Respond to overdoses in the surrounding area of MSIC as directed
• Understanding of the legislative, policy framework and values underpinning the work that is done at MSIC
• Providing takeaway naloxone training to clients
• Provide support and assistance to GP during Outreach Clinic at MSIC
• Currently I am acting in the CNC (Mental Health Coordinator) role at MSIC from 02/02/2022 to 13/03/2022.

• Provided a high level of case management to clients of the service, including the administration of methadone, buprenorphine, Buprenorphine/Naloxone, buvidal and sublicade.
• Working knowledge of Heretic and Idose.
• Work collaboratively with relevant members of the multidisciplinary health team in the planning, implementation, assessment and evaluation of care provided to the clients of the service.
• Drug and Alcohol assessments for new clients seeking Rx.
• Provided D&A Consult Liaison at Mt Druitt Hospital ED when required.
• Assisted Dr Robert Graham with his weekly clinic for ambulatory detox clients and OTP clients. Provided follow-up to these clients and continued to case manage them as necessary. Liaised with the relevant Pharmacy's and provided care to external clients.
• Supervised and case managed high risk clients included pregnant, forensic and duel diagnosis clients. Liaising with relevant parties about their care and progress.
• Regular team leader role when required.
• Provided assistance to LIMA trial researchers by doing observations, ECG, drug use diary's and dispensing and recording of LIMA trial medication to client's on the trial.
• Attended and participated in Clinical Review, DCG conferences and Vulnerable Families meetings.

• Registered Nurse on Casual Pool covering all Units of the facility when required covering morning, evening and night shifts.
• The Hills Clinic is an 85 bed private inpatient mental health facility which has three units including a Young Adults Unit (YA) specifically for 16-25 year old clients, a Drug and Alcohol Unit and a Mood Disorder Unit.
• I was also undertook regular incharge of unit and hospital shifts.

• Registered Nurse on Casual Pool covering all Units of the facility when required covering morning, evening and night shifts.
• Northside West Clinic is an 73 bed private inpatient mental health facility which has various units including a Mood Disorder Unit, Eating Disorder Unit, Drug and Alcohol Unit, ECT Suite and Day and Evening Program Unit
• I was also undertook regular incharge of unit and hospital shifts when required.

• Provided a high level of case management to clients of the service, including the administration of methadone, buprenorphine and Buprenorphine/Naloxone
• Working knowledge of Heretic

• Organized Temp Transfers for clients interstate and within NSW to continue OST Rx.
• Regular team leader role when required and Acting Nurse Unit Manager role when required.

Northside Clinic is a private inpatient mental health facility which has various units including a Mood Disorder Unit, Eating Disorder Unit, Drug and Alcohol Unit, Admission Ward, ECT Suite and Day and Evening Program Unit.

Became Permanent full time in November 1993 and worked on Eating Disorder Unit. Became NUM of same unit from February 1996.

Acted in the Director of Clinical Services roll between January 1999 till July 1999 and then returned to being NUM of Eating Disorder Unit.

• Worked as a Registered Nurse across a variety of units at Cumberland Hospital including Forensic, Psychogeriatric and Wisteria House (Inpatient detox and rehabilitation unit for Drug and Alcohol clients)

Worked as a Registered Nurse for 2 periods of approx 3months each time whilst on a Working and travel holiday to Australia.

I covered the Hostel area(approx 200 residents)when I worked at Wesley Gardens providing healthcare, medication supervision, emergency management and encouraging the clients to continue an independent lifestyle.

I returned to Scotland and completed my Mental Health Nurse Training and when I returned to Australia I worked again for Wesley Gardens for a further 3 months until I commenced at Cumberland Hospital.

• I worked in this in-patient unit on completion of Registered Nurse Training.
• I provided care to patients that were undergoing Radiotherapy and Chemotherapy.
• Also provided palliative care to patients who had reached that stage of their illness.
