In 2021/22 I transferred across to the environmental department at Carosue Dam

• Experiences gained include, GIS mapping, Malleefowl monitoring, Bore monitoring and data collection for various other monitoring programs
• I have also been exposed to environmental compliance inspections, mine closure activities and proposals.
• Provided guidance to facility personnel on proper waste handling procedures.
• Collected samples from surface water bodies for laboratory analysis.
• Provided technical support to other departments within the organization as needed.

• In the time I have been with Northern Star, I have gained invaluable experience in collecting geological data of RC chips and diamond core for a variety of geology resource development projects for Carosue Dam and surrounding operations
• This has entailed QAQC sampling and spectral analyses of different mineral resources within the geological formation at Carosue Dam and collation of imagery for database records.

• Assisted the geology team with ore block mark-up, ore spotting and drill rig management in a working open pit mine
• Duties included collection of RC samples and driving around Heavy Machinery.

• Sampling of blast cones from the pit
• This included lab drop off, QAQC analyses and risk assessment.

• Assisted with the processing of exploration and underground core from the Gossan Hill and Scuddles mine sites
• This included database management, data entry and QAQC input and collection of sample bags, and core samples from diamond drilling and RC programs

• During my studies I have been employed with Officeworks
• Working in a retail setting has developed skills in time management and organisation, communicating with a range of different people and supervising fellow team members.

• Worked with the Environmental team on a flora/fauna and heritage survey of the surrounding Carosue Dam operations in preparation for a seismic survey
• In addition, I assisted with core processing when needed.

• Through this 3 month internship, I have gained practical experience in marine science and knowledge of aquaculture project operations
• Research projects included coral health monitoring, rock oyster recruitment, water and pearl oyster sampling, weather observations, and analysing data
• These projects were mostly self-guided with minimal input from research team.

• Digirock, Collected RC samples for Macphersons Resources Limited on a good exploration project in Boorara, Kalgoorlie, which provided me with a good understanding of the prospecting phase of mining development projects and the environmental issues arising.

• Participated in field research of sawfish, sharks and rays in remote Northern Queensland
• Fieldwork involved catch and release methods of each animal caught and recording biological data
• This experience provided me a good understanding of biological sampling survey techniques

• Monitoring of rays and sawfish within freshwater and marine environments
• Use of gill nets and modified drum lines to sample rivers and coastal areas for sawfishes
