ELLA WRAGG

Richmond,VIC

Summary

I am a motivated second year Juris Doctor student at the University of Melbourne with a strong academic background in law and a passion for legal practice, eager to contribute to a professional legal team and further develop my expertise in the legal field. I am seeking an opportunity which will allow me to apply my knowledge and skills in a dynamic legal environment, with an interest in exploring various areas of law, however I have a particular interest in criminal law, prosecution and Administrative Law. I would describe myself as an organised and dependable individual who is successful when it comes to managing multiple priorities while also maintaining an upbeat and positive attitude which is of equal importance within any team. I also recognise the importance of taking on additional responsibilities in order to meet team goals and I endeavour to demonstrate this by completing the task at hand to the best of my ability.

  • My role was to assist four lawyers in their handling of summary and indictable criminal matters. Further, I prepared and filed court documents with various courts (usually the Magistrates' Court and Supreme Court) on behalf of lawyers to ensure smooth communications and processes which included Gaol Orders, Form 11A, Form 32 and Form 46 as well as Bail Applications and Abridgement Applications
  • I was the point of contact for all incoming phone calls, responsible for relaying messages whilst also triaging legal correspondence with most of these calls originating from VicPol informants and prosecutors, clients in prison and psychiatrists undertaking assessments on clients
  • Two of the lawyers I assisted specialised in indictable matters and frequently appeared in matters prosecuted by OPP solicitors which fed my passion to work within this organisation
