SKILLS

Diligent & Organised

Determines clear priorities and develops appropriate plans, managing people and resources effectively to deliver the highest level of care to any work task.

Not only applying this in my professional life, I also strive to achieve this in my personal life with the use of lists, spreadsheets and time management to ensure my family and I are well provided for.

Decisive

Working as a paramedic, making correct decisions in a timely manner is key, as these are often made in emergency situations. I demonstrate this particularly in my role as a clinical instructor (CI) - decisiveness about patient care, managing resources, medication and other treatment administration, whilst working with a student.

Effective communication

Establishes rapport, trust and reassurance with all members of the community and all other parties involved in cases. Actively listens and formulates appropriate treatment pathways. Frequent use of verbal de-escalation strategies when required. Delivering difficult information to colleagues in a positive and supportive manner.

Computer Skills

Intermediate computer skills, experienced in Microsoft Office and use it both in professional and personal capacities. Intermediate knowledge and use of internal Ambulance Victoria software systems - Riskman, Analytics & Reporting and ePCR retrieval. All of this has been used for case review and improving education for myself and colleagues.
