A human rights based Community Support Coordinator with over fifteen years experience working alongside people with lived experience of mental health and /or disability. I have a strong history of establishing respectful relationships with peers, co-workers, internal and external stakeholders. I have extensive experience working collaboratively with peers, carers, external agencies and services developing and implementing support plans that are peer led, strength based and have recovery at their heart. My ethics and experience mean that my professional and personal life are based firmly on people's human rights and this encapsulates inclusion, equality, respect, diversity, strength and hope. I have an in-depth knowledge of mental illness stemming from my own lived experience and that of my community.; I appreciate the impact it has on peers, their chosen families and significant others and I respond with understanding, always a listening ear, respect and awareness of the potential of recovery for all people involved. I have developed over my life an ethics that sees strength in our diversity and values our common humanity. After a career break to care for my mother who has lived experience of dementia, I am looking to join an organisation with a strong history of human rights, strength based and recovery focused, peer lead service provision.
