Emily Edwards

I was chosen for this role by the Principal of the Dance Academy and held this role for 6 years. I lead the Tiny Tots dance group and participated in the concert. This involved volunteering for their class once a week for 6 years.

• I positively impacted the lives of countless children within the community by dedicating my time, energy, and passion towards dance as a student volunteer.

• Played games, read books, and engaged with children of various ages.
• Communicated positively with children and guardians.
• Organised and cleaned home after activities by picking up toys and straightening up play room.
• Maintained a clean and organized environment to ensure the well-being of children under care.
• When being asked to look after animals I have looked after cats, dogs, and chickens when people have been away.
• Prepared healthy, age-appropriate snacks and meals.
• Reassured children when upset providing emotional support and stability.
• Bathed, dressed, and helped with teeth brushing as part of bedtime preparation.
• Assisted with meal preparation, light housekeeping and laundry to support family with additional chores.

Worked as part of the Kids Ministry Team for the last 3 years at Christ Church Gladesville, a position I was originally nominated for.

• Supported engaging, fun, and smooth-running events by helping with organization and planning.
• Used strong interpersonal communication skills to convey information and feedback tailored to both children and their parents.
• Delivered talks in clear and age-appropriate terms to convey a message.
• I have taught the pre school Sunday school since I was fifteen years old and recently started leading a Kids Club on Friday Nights for primary school aged children.
