Work History

Retail Assistant

The Tack Box Saddleworld
06.2022 - Current
  • I am currently employed as a part time worker at The Tack Box Saddleworld in Tyabb Victoria
  • This customer facing position has further supported my ability to interact with the public and increased my knowledge on the work behind the scenes of managing a retail store.
  • I assist in opening and closing procedures, placing work and backorders, maintaining a clean and stocked floor as well as a tidy workers area and organising leather repairs, rug repairs and cleaning.
  • I also assist customers both on the floor and over the phone.
  • I take pride in my ability to remain productive during quiet periods or make way through large quantities of stock deliveries.

Mixed Paid and Volunteer Work

Corvid Stud: HORSE PROPERTY
01.2016 - Current
  • I have completed both paid and volunteer work for a local horse farm over the past 10 years
  • These jobs have ranged from general horse care and exercise to riding lessons and supporting the sale of client horses
  • Through this role I have needed to be self motivated to complete the jobs around my study obligations at the time
  • It was also important to communicate clearly to provide quality customer service.

Work Experience

Frankston Police Station
07.2019 - 07.2019
  • My mid to long term goal is to enter the Police force to serve and support our local community
  • To support this goal, I completed voluntary work experience during my time at high school
  • This experience included observing operations in the call centre during the 2019 bush fire response
  • I was able to observe best practice crisis communication techniques both between team members and with the public who were often stressed or concerned
  • Further, I was able to assist officers by managing paper work and supporting general office administration
  • I was also able to go the Frankston Magistrates Court and observe a proceeding
  • While doing my work experience, I was able to watch how the officers dealt with difficult people and manage stressful and busy situations
  • I was also given the opportunity to take fingerprints off a license plate.

Retail Assistant

Mobile Equine Merchandise Store
01.2019 - 01.2020
  • I worked as a casual worker for an equine merchandise store.
  • My responsibilities included assisting customers in selecting goods, processing payments, stock management, laybys and online order, opening and closing procedures, supporting social media campaigns, answering phone enquires and managing invoices.
  • To complete my responsibilities, I used and am familiar with several IT systems including Shopify, Microsoft Outlook, Facebook and Instagram marketing systems.
  • This work occurred at both a permanent location and Victoria wide event-based stall.
  • I assisted in both the preparation activities and during the event to ensure the stall ran smoothly.
  • This public facing role demonstrates my ability to be a self-motivated worker who can effectively communicate within a small but dedicated team to support the needs of the general public.

Work Experience

Tranquil Park Horse Riding School
06.2019 - 11.2023
  • I completed work experience as a part of my Equine Studies VET Course at a horse-riding lesson property
  • My responsibilities included general care and exercise of multiple horses during the day
  • During this work I was able to develop my self motivation and organizational skills
  • I also helped in cleaning the property and took pride in ensuring the work spaces were neat and safe
  • The role also included assisting with the lessons which involved, watching the students until the instructor arrived and leading the clients while they rode
  • I also supported other volunteers in their work by providing horse safety training and support to those that were unfamiliar with general horse care.
  • In 2023, I returned back into an assistant manager position. This meant I was responsible for teaching riding lessons and directing workers as well as administrative duties, such as bookings and payments.
