The Children, Family and the Community General course focuses on factors that influence human development and the wellbeing of individuals, families and communities Students develop an understanding of human growth and the domains of development Students are introduced to the diverse nature and interdependence of societal groups They develop an appreciation of how the creation of environments that promote optimal growth and development of individuals, families and communities affect and influence society as a whole Students will communicate and interact with children, families and community groups in practical ways They will come to understand that beliefs, values and ethics influence decisions made by individuals, families, and communities

3 years of Psychology General:

Psychology is the study of how people think, feel and act Its main aim is to understand humans and is rigorous in its use of scientific method which allows for exploration into the complexities of human behaviour Psychological knowledge helps us understand individuals alone, how individuals function within groups and how they are affected by different contexts Psychology can be applied to any context in which humans are involved and allows students to gain valuable insights into both themselves and the world
