Responsible for all HR functions for a small family roofing business that averages between 15 to 20 people.

Reporting directly to both Directors the role is very 'hands on' and requires professional, realistic approach to what makes a company function in a very fast moving construction industry.

  • Executing the correct Industrial Instrument in line with the correct Modern Award(s) and National Employment Standards
  • Management of all employee relations including hosting disciplinaries, grievances and informal discussions. Day to day management of employees with attendance, punctuality and welfare issues.
  • Recruitment of suitable tradesman, office staff & apprentices including writing job adverts, interviewing and negotiating employment offers. Onboarding new employees, completing all work right checks, training required and facilitate the company safety induction
  • Company representative of Occupational Health and Safety, preparing risk assessments, investigating incidents and management of all safety documentation.
  • Implementation of performance improvement plans with supportive coaching and encouragement to improve productivity and efficiency
  • Injury management including workers compensation management assisting injured workers with return to work plans. Involves working closely with the insurance company and ensuring the company is meeting the Workers Compensation Act
  • Responsible for the Employee and Safety Company Handbooks and ensuring the policies within are accurate, communicating changes to the workforce.
  • Document owner and writer of all company process & procedures, job descriptions, company profile documents & social media content.
  • Processing of the fortnightly payroll using MYOB account right.
  • Wide variety of other company focused administration tasks such as progress claim invoicing, ordering and the procurement of materials, monitor office amenities, retail sales of roofing products, scheduling, timesheet monitoring and approval and any other tasks as directed including emptying bins and making a cuppa.

Affiliations

I regularly Horse Ride and take part in Equestrian Sports. I also do volunteer work and I am currently on the executive committee as 'The Present' for 2025 of our Adult Riding Club. We run the club s a 'not for profit' business fundraising for the clubs expenses as well as for charities.

I am an active person also enjoy keeping fit at the gym, cycling and walking. I also have a working bred cocker spaniel dog Jenson who is almost 11 and I also have a Canary Bird called Chino (short for Cappuccino my favorite coffee)
