The Partnering with Consumers Standard strives to create a health service that achieves mutually beneficial outcomes by having:

• consumers as partners, during and after care in the planning of care, design of care, delivery of care, measurement and evaluation of care, systems and services
• Involving the patients as partners in their care and working collaboratively with all disciplinarians.

The Partnering with Consumers Standard recognises the importance of involving patients in their own care and implementing clear communication to patients and consumers. This standard, in collaboration with the Clinical Governance Standard, aims to support and develop a solid foundation for all the other standards.

• The Blood Management Standard strives to ensure positive outcomes for patients by identifying and eliminating risks and using strategies that will improve and conserve a patient's own blood, as well as ensuring that any blood and blood products that patients receive are safe and appropriate.
• Ensuring the safety of collection and administration follows all the appropriate practices dictated in the standards but also following the hospitals policies and protocols at all times.
• Combining all other standards of care to achieve a gold level of care.

• Completed a post graduate certificate in Emergency Nursing through the Griffith University, QLD.
• Demonstrates a higher level of skill in my clinical decision making, especially when it comes to problem identification and solution, and analysing and interpreting clinical data while working closely with the medical team, nursing team and patients.

AuSCR was established to provide a comprehensive description and understanding of Australia’s stroke care experiences and to enable monitoring and evaluation of the entire healthcare system.

Through the AuSCR, hospitals throughout Australia can participate in:

• a nation-wide view of stroke care using validated quality indicators can be developed and utilised to assess management and treatments
• variability in the care that is provided to patients with stroke or transient ischaemic attack (TIA) admitted to hospital can be monitored and addressed, not a one size fits all approach.
• quality of care can be assessed in light of key patient outcomes, including self-reported quality of life indicators three to six months after hospital admission, therefore developing an understanding of treatments, time values and patient variability's in the recovery of stroke.

• Completed a Bachelor of Nursing Through LaTrobe University in Bendigo.
• Currently registered with Australian Nursing and Midwifery Board & unrestricted AHPRA registration.

• Completed a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment through Sunraysia TAFE, Swan Hill, Victoria.
• Taught Nursing for 2 x first semesters at Sunraysia TAFE in Swan Hill in 2020 and 2021. The ability to share my knowledge and experiences with upcoming Endorsed Enrolled Nursing students is truely satisfying in watching them grow, learn, understand, implement and consolodate the knowledge and skills they have learnt.

• Learnt valuable skills during this timeframe, including:

* Communication skills * problem solving * counting and balancing of the vault * completing paperwork * and answering to a multi-tier level of bosses.

I enjoyed my time there, making life long friendships and developing skills to network within the community and associated sporting clubs.

• Working closely with the client and client's family helped to develop a strong foundation of skills such as compassion and caring and providing the basic needs and hygiene needs to those in need. Understanding that a disability does not define you, instead highlights the strength and ability they demonstrate to overcome their disability and adapt to a new way of life.

• Completed the Hand Hygiene auditor course and was involved in many audits within our department that allowed further education around the safety and requirements of hand hygiene.

• Covering a S/L position for approximately 6 months was a vital experience that I was fortunate to experience and given the opportunity. I developed an understanding and skills within this role that I was able to use and implement when I returned to my role of CNS. These included:
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with Staff and Patients
• Understanding of evidence-based Emergency nursing theory & practice
• Knowledge & understanding of National Standards and Accreditation and educating junior staff members
• Leadership experience and works well under pressure - I am able to demonstrate when I am placed as an In Charge of shifts.
• Extensive experience in emergency nursing with post graduate education exhibiting broad clinical knowledge and skills - working in the ED for the past 6 years, but also bringing my experience from the Acute Ward and Theatre.
• Team-orientated and consumer-focused - Advocating for my patients and team members.
• Strong computer literacy skills - some days they are excellent and some days I am not afraid to ask for help.
• Willingness to undertake portfolio work in consultation with NUM - Currently the AuSCR and VST coordinator, and on standards 2 and 7 and always striving to find more ways to improve our department.
