Current Role

  • My current role involves supporting key SMS Healthcare Ophthalmology Clinics in growing their business through strengthening and developing Ophthalmologist/Optometrist relationships and introducing new referrers. My role also includes developing, as well as presenting, Optometrist Education Programs at Education Events.

Objective:

  • Grow the number of Optometrist patient referrals by at least 20%, in my first 6 months, by visiting potential and current referrers, organising Education Events and promoting our Ophthalmologists and Services.

Device Technologies is a company which distributes medical devices and equipment in Australia, New Zealand and Asia. The Ophthalmic Surgical Division sells intraocular lenses, surgical instruments, and surgical capital equipment.

Responsibilities in this role:

  • Provide technical support and education to eye surgeons and their staff, mainly on Extended Depth of Focus (EDOF) lenses.
  • Provide theatre support for new products to eye surgeons and their staff.
  • Calculate intraocular lens parameters for difficult cases.
  • Provide troubleshooting advice, on EDOF IOLs, for eye surgeons.
  • Co-travel with Product Specialists to drive interest in new business and sales.
  • Develop and present patient Co-management Programs for Optometrists.
  • Establish and develop relationships with Eye Surgeons and Optometrists, especially Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs).
  • Train new and current Sales Team members on new products and developments.

Achievements:

  • Playing a major role in helping maintain an average 15% year on year sales growth for the Ophthalmic Surgical Division, since joining the team.
  • Playing a major role in helping the Ophthalmic Division recover quickly from a product recall.
  • Being nominated for a Sales Achievement Award in 2023.
