During the completion of my certificate III in mechanical fitting and turning i learnt and mastered many different skills. My main role at Gelita was factory and irrigation maintenance, which involves fixing breakdowns of all types of pumps and electric motors. This also includes work with tight tolerance pump bearings and housings which requires a high attention to detail and patience. As well as this I also had a role in fabricating, this included stainless and mild steel MIG, TIG and stick welding. Overall, this role has helped me to develop adaptability to any situation that involves on the spot thinking and creativity. Additionally to this my role at Fraser’s Livestock has been fabrication orientated, this has given me experience working in a different environment with a different skill set.
