- I also had some hands-on experience using Trakgene and learning how it could be used in cancer genetic counselling

- At this placement, I learned case preparation skills by learning to use the hospital patient database, liaising with other hospital departments as well as other health services
- I also observed several MDT meetings and learning how genetic counsellors could contribute to patient care by collaborating with other healthcare professionals
- I had the opportunity to co-counsel alongside a supervising genetic counsellor, allowing me to explore different ways of approaching an appointment
