Clinical Placement Experience
Completed 480 hours of supervised clinical placement across a variety of hospital and aged care settings during the two-year Diploma of Nursing.

• Aegis Aged Care Facility: 2 weeks in the Aged Care Transitional Unit, providing person-centred care and supporting residents with daily living activities and rehabilitation goals.
• Fremantle Hospital: 2 weeks in the General Medical Ward, assisting with medication administration, wound care, and patient monitoring.
• Rockingham Hospital: 2 weeks in the Aged Care Rehabilitation Unit, supporting mobility, recovery, and multidisciplinary care planning.
• Fiona Stanley Hospital: 6-week surgical placement, including 2 weeks in the Short Stay and Day Surgery Unit and 4 weeks in the Cardiothoracic Surgical Ward, completing all aspects of pre- and post-operative nursing care.

Throughout placements, demonstrated:

• Safe and accurate medication administration and vital signs monitoring to support optimal health outcomes.
• Participation in developing and implementing individualised care plans based on patient assessments and medical histories.
• Effective collaboration with multidisciplinary teams to ensure coordinated and holistic care delivery.
• Patient and family education on health management, treatment procedures, and medication adherence.
• Ability to remain calm and focused during high-pressure situations, applying sound clinical judgment and prioritisation to achieve positive outcomes.
• Competence in performing routine wound care, dressing changes, and infection prevention practices.

• Working in a team of baristas in busy high traffic café, making coffees, multitasking and working in sync with other baristas to ensure the most efficient workspace while delivery same high-quality coffee per order.

• Completed 2 weeks full time work practical for Certificate III Sterilization Services at Mounts Bay Hospital in the sterilization department.

• Community support worker providing personal care to those with neurological conditions. Following safety, manual handling and medication procedures on shift. Maintaining professionalism and working as a team to achieve safe outcome for clients.

• Main Barista in mobile coffee van, making coffees and serving customers. Working as part of a team to make coffee as efficiently as possible in a small workspace. Utilizing multitasking and time management skills to maintain quality while working under pressure.

• Completed 2 weeks full time work placement to finish Cert IV Aged Care. Assisting and learning from staff the daily procedures, utilizing correct manual handling techniques. Working as a team to ensure the residents were cared for in a timely matter that catered to their daily needs. Maintaining safety standards at all times ensuring at risk residents were safe and comfortable.

• Complying with RSA with safe service of alcohol, working as a team to serve food and drink in an efficient manner when under pressure. Following workplace policies and wearing appropriate clothing and footwear when working. Being in charge of other workers when manager on shift and delegating tasks to ensure continual housekeeping and daily procedures were completed.
