• Liaising with landlords, council and emergency services
• Emergency planning and follow up (e.g. disaster recovery and emergency procedures)
• Preventive, predictive and corrective maintenance (e.g. Fire protection systems and lifting equipment)
• Waste Management
• Soft services (cleaning, pest control, car parking)
• Ensuring adequate resources are allocated to the cleaning of campuses and student facilitates
• Conducting regular audits on the quality of cleaning staff and contractors
• Responding to ticketed requests for cleaning interventions
• Reporting on the hours used to maintain cleanliness of campus' and offices
• Coordinating the provision of necessary audio visual equipment to teachers, management and corporate functions
• Maintaining the register and record of AV assets and conduct quarterly audits of assets
• Managing preventative maintenance and upgrading of equipment
• Managing environmental performance (e.g. behaviour change initiatives)
• Managing OH&S, Risks and Control of Substances Hazardous to Health
• Testing and inspections of doors, security and access control
• Industrial hygiene, including indoor air quality
• Moving furniture, equipment, and supplies, using manual handling safety measures
· Reporting the need for minor repairs to the Facilities Maintenance Administrator
· Reporting the need for major repairs or additions to building operating systems to the Facilities Manager
• Establishing & maintaining an excellent working relationship with the landlord to ensure prompt rectification of issues
• Liaising with Head of Campus and Department Heads about room set up and orientation meeting requirements for seminars and conferences and examination requirements.
• Providing relief front desk security officer to cover ground floor when required
• Undertake Emergency Management and OHS training and actively carryout responsibilities and safe work practices in the work environment• Ensuring the safety of Melbourne facilities• General trouble-shooting with respect to facilities
