• Participated in Edith Cowan’s Tax Clinic, 07/01/24 to 10/31/24, This facilitated compliance with tax requirements by vulnerable members of the society in Western Australia specifically Perth, Carnarvon, and Fitzroy Crossing.
• Participated in transitioning clients’ accounting systems from manual use of books to digital use of the Xero accounting software in Kenya, The transition helped in having up-to-date reports by clients and hence preparation of VAT, NSSF, and NHIF returns reduced from a day’s task to an hour’s task.
• Participated in the lobbying phase of the Finance Act of 2023 in Kenya, Presented views with factual justifications to reduce the Value-added Tax from 16% to 12% citing the impact in the various sectors of the economy. Our accounting firm represented many other small and upcoming accounting firms. Most of the proposals given were eventually implemented.
• Trialed the advanced Xero accounting software for an organization in Australia, Set up as a course fulfillment for Accounting 6010.
• Researched Australian Corporations, With the guidelines on key liquidity, profitability, and efficiency ratios and performed comparative studies.
• Analyzed the development of Accounting standards, Studied the journals developed concerning two major standards AASB 16 Accounting on Leases and AASB 15 Accounting for Revenue considering their adoption in the Australian corporates.
