I commenced my career in Real Estate in 1986 and immediately developed a genuine passion for the industry. Starting as a secretary in Property Management, I worked my way through the ranks over the years to become a Senior Property Manager. Throughout my career in property management, I have consistently achieved strong results and have been recognised with numerous industry awards.
In 2003, I purchased my own rent roll and established my own property management company. After successfully operating the business for two years, I joined forces with WA Property Project Marketing in 2005. Between 2005 and 2008, I successfully managed and expanded the rent roll from 70 properties to over 240 residential properties, in addition to overseeing strata and commercial management portfolios, while also selling residential properties.
Unfortunately, in 2008, due to personal circumstances, I made the decision to step away from the business and WA Property Project Marketing purchased my share of the company. Following this, I took time away from the industry for medical reasons.
In 2011, I returned to the industry as a contractor, providing consultancy services to various real estate agencies. My work included advising on best practice procedures, implementing systems, restructuring departments, and improving rent roll performance and efficiency.
I then joined Acton Central, where I spent many years working as Head of Department, Senior Property Manager, and Business Development Manager. Following my time with Acton, I took the opportunity to travel overseas before commencing employment with Colliers International WA in November 2017. Within 10 months at Colliers, I progressed from Senior Property Manager to Head of Department and was subsequently promoted to Associate Director.
Having worked in Real Estate since 1986, along with owning and operating my own businesses, I have developed extensive knowledge across all facets of the industry. My key strengths include organisational skills, time management, conflict resolution, leadership, and the ability to build trust and make clients feel comfortable and secure.
Owning businesses has also provided me with a strong commercial understanding, particularly in improving productivity, streamlining operations, and identifying cost saving opportunities. I particularly enjoy being the “go to” person within a business, solving problems, improving systems, and supporting teams to achieve strong outcomes.
While I have experience across residential, commercial, and strata management, residential property remains my strongest passion. Having personally owned more than 20 investment properties over the years, I have always had a genuine interest in property investment and the real estate industry as a whole.
Even after nearly 40 years in the industry, my passion for Real Estate remains as strong as ever. I genuinely enjoy the work, the people, and the challenges that come with it, and I cannot see myself ever fully retiring from an industry I truly love.
