Felix Brooke

I regularly join my father Mike who has a stall at Daylesford Markets where he sells products from his business "Made by Mike". We sell various objects made with wood, leather and copper.

In this role I:

• Greet customers and answer any questions.
• Run demonstrations to entice passers by to the stall.
• Manage sales and receipts.
• Often I am managing the stall alone.

My five year old cousin James is neuro-divergent. This means he has different patterns to regular children, and processes information differently. He can sometimes be quite stubborn and often tries to run away. I would keep him under control with the following approaches:

• Played games, worked on puzzles, and reading books.
• Communicated positively with him, his sister and his parents.
• Organized and cleaned home after activities by picking up toys and straightening up play room.
• Reassured James when upset providing emotional support and stability.

This was a two day workshop held at the Maritime Museum Sydney for high school students with the aim to educate them in how to save the ocean and to address issues in climate change.

As an event volunteer, my role was to work with the students in developing their ideas and helping with their surveys. I also assisted with registration and room set up.

• Assisted with special events and programs.
• Promoted environmental awareness with educational workshops and hands-on activities.
• Used strong interpersonal communication skills to convey information to others.
• Ensured I was always friendly and welcoming with a smile on my face.
