Fiona Finster

GLEN IRIS - VIC

Summary

I am a focused and dedicated primary school educator with 4 years of experience. Passionate about educating primary aged children using various activities and organisational tools. An enthusiastic classroom teacher with a structured and organised approach to classroom development. My goal is to encourage within my students, a high level of personal integrity and a sense of individual responsibility. I provide a classroom environment, which educates and nurtures. Students are encouraged to enquire, to welcome and accept challenge and to strive for excellence and as a teacher I must ensure students know themselves to be highly valued within the classroom and school. I hope to encourage students to possess an appetite and enthusiasm for learning, so that study at school will be simply the first stage in a process of life-long learning.

In my previous work I

-Carefully analysed student areas of weakness and promoted areas of excellence.

-Orchestrated innovative solutions to academic and interpersonal problems.

-Developed compassionate approach to growing student maturity.

-Am skilled in developing lesson plans, creating custom class materials assigning classwork and analysing assessments.

-Am a diplomatic communicator when addressing parents and children about disciplinary actions.

I have spent the last twenty years focusing on raising my children; Nick, Lachie and Chloe. I have been involved in their school communities. I have spent ten years as a class rep at both Lauriston and Scotch College, been a member of the Lauriston Council, a member of the Scotch Scrum Club managing their events and am on the Lauriston Rowing association and Parents' association.
