• Provide haemodialysis to acute and chronic patients. .
• Assess healthcare condition of renal patients with various existing co-morbidities and safely deliver care and treatment.

• Educate patients, families and caregivers on diagnosis and prognosis, treatment options, disease process and management and lifestyle options.
• Support new dialysis nurses in proper techniques, care standards, operational procedures and safety protocols.
• Provide direct patient care. Recognise deterioration and stabilise patients. Critically determine appropriate course of action as guided by policies and procedure.
• Administer medications via oral, IV, and intramuscular injections and monitored responses.
• Oncall for CCU and ICU, providing urgent dialysis
• Manage care from admission to discharge (outpatient dialysis)
• Confer with physicians to discuss diagnoses and devise well-coordinated treatment approaches.
• Evaluate healthcare needs, goals for treatment and available resources for patients and their families to facilitate independence.

• Provide bedside haemodialysis: ICU, CCU and Ward setting.

• Collaborated with interdisciplinary teams to develop comprehensive treatment plans for complex patients with multiple comorbidities.

Team Leader Roles:

• Mentor new dialysis nurses in proper techniques, care standards, operational procedures, and safety protocols to optimize performance and safety.

• Go to person for access issues/cannulation issues.

• Manage shifts including CNM and CNC roles when they are on rest days or holidays.

• Dialysis machine troubleshooter.

• Assist and provide prompt and emergency care to deteriorating patients. Escalating to ED by informing registrar and arranging an ambulance for transport as needed.

• Collaborate clinic schedule for patients to appropriate clinic depending on complaints. • Delegate patients and allocate to isolation suites when showing signs and symptoms of COVID-19.

• Perform random audits on staff and patient files to ensure expected standards and qualities are met.

• Mediator of conflicts, if unresolved, escalate to CNC.

• Ensure all monthly assessments, daily COVID assessments, daily Environmental Checklist for both nurses and PCA's are done to uphold protocols and safety standards.

• Ensure adequate supplies (medical and cleaning), if not, inform and follow-up.

• Respond and lead appropriately during crisis (deteriorating patient, water alarms, fire alarms, staffing issues, etc.).

• In the absence of CNC, coordinate with other units for new patients from other units or interstate.

• Coordinate with the transport services for patients’ transport needs.

• Submit a shift report to CNC and CNM.
