  • Disaster Management and Recovery as acting Deputy Director for CYDC, I was responsible for leading a team of managers during Cyclone Yassi ( February 2011) – planning and coordinating the evacuation of staff and young people from CYDC to Townsville Women’s Correctional Centre.
  • Emergency Contingency /Critical Incident Management – Whilst working as Accommodation Manager, Deputy General Manager and Deputy Director both within CYDC and in Adult Correctional facilities I have managed and coordinated high level leadership during critical incident management events e.g. Incidents of riotous behaviours, wilful damage, staff assaults, medical emergencies, roof top incidents, self-harming, absconding’s, sexual assaults, attempted escapes, and on one such occasion an incident of attempted murder.
  • I have also directed and coordinated emergency contingencies; where unlawful assemblies, involving high risk adult offenders had barricaded themselves within accommodation units. I have also, on numerous occasions facilitated the role of Incident Commander and have provided Flash Briefs, Investigative Reports and Incident Review and Evaluations to QCS Central Office. As well as Coordinated / Approved External Escorts, Reintegration Work Party and emergency LOA’s.
  • Senior Management Meetings – I actively participate and engage with senior staff (Executive Directors, Director Generals and Regional Directors) within Queensland Corrective Services and Justice and Attorney General Department –During these times I have been required to lead and manage information and correspondence relating to Operational issues within both facilities.
  • I have provided authoritative and expert advice on operational, strategic and project management related knowledge, in order to contribute and deliver on to best outcomes for young people, prisoners and staff within each centre.

Humanitarian Officer based in Becora - Dili, East Timor Headquarters. Responsible for the management and distribution of the welfare goods and services sector. (Logistics) Responsible for coordination and management of a team of multidisciplinary staff, (e.g. educators, welfare staff, medical services, builders – local and international volunteers) - who’s objective and service focus was to identify specific need for individuals, families, and communities within the East Timorese villages and districts. I was also responsible for overseeing the process of assessment, planning and implementation of logistical requirements; as well as ensuring safe delivery of goods and services. Security and safe management practices including monitoring and evaluation of distribution of International Aid donations.


Sporting and Recreational Interests:

As a women of mixed heritage ( Papua New Guinea and German decent) I am a member of the Coral Sea Outrigger rowing club, and also a member of the Open Women’s Race Team. I consider myself to be physically fit and very competition. I am a dedicated team played and have previous sponsored the purchase of a new surf OC6 canoe. I also had the pleasure of accepting the responsibility of formally naming the new canoe at the naming and blessing ceremony. This ceremony was conducted on the Strand in the presence of both Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander, Polynesian, Melanesian and Micronesian community elders. I also participate in community find raising events for the sport.
