At Pirate Life, it was my responsibility to transfer beer from the tanks into cans via a mechanical canning line & pack into boxes so that they could be distributed across Australia & internationally.
My responsibilities included:
Ensuring the canning line (especially can fillers) had been consistently sanitized; lab work: checking and testing CO2, Ph, and Oxygen levels in the beer across the packaging process.
Fault finding and repairing when the canning line had broken down (constant process); manual labour.
Testing equipment daily; Emergency stops on canning line (3), Emergency stop on can elevator, testing & adjusting motion sensors.
Ensuring that correct PPE was used at all times; Safety glasses, hearing protection, gloves, thermal gloves, correct boots.
When using chemicals: face shield, long gloves, apron, being well aware of MSDS for information on how to safety store & use chemicals.
Working in a safe environment whilst being in an environment that could present many hazards and risks at any time including trucks, multiple forklifts, and other heavy machinery that has pinch & crushing risks.

Paul is an Electrical contractor who specializes in renewable energy building wind farms in commercial settings & installing solar for residential across regional SA & Victoria, and other electrical residential callouts. I have assisted Paul sporadically in a two year period in residential settings as a trades assistant for experience.
My responsibilities included:
Assisting on job sites, arriving in my own vehicle and supplying my own hand tools (insulated screwdrivers, pliers, wire strippers).
Familiarising myself with cable types including TPS (1.5mm & 2.5mm) twin & earth, and learning when it is suitable to use each cable and understand why it is important to know the difference in application.
Fitting standard single-phase three-pin power outlets, and light fittings, whilst understanding the polarity of active and neutral so that when a circuit is created from these apparatus’ from a load, current will flow with no discrepancies.
General housekeeping, keeping a workplace tidy during and upon completion of a job to ensure customer satisfaction.
The correct use of ladders (A-frame & single ladders) with the main focus of being able to undertake work in a safe manner.
