I joined Reece Bathroom Life as a Sales Consultant in 2011. Bathroom Life is a specialty business unit designed to compliment the core Reece Plumbing Business. Whilst there I rose through the ranks, progressing to Team Lead and then Branch manager within the first year.
Over the course of five years as Branch Manager, I had the privilege of overseeing operations across multiple stores and spearheading the successful launch of two new stores within our Bathroom Life Network in Sydney. One standout achievement during this tenure was revitalizing the profitability of the Waterloo store, which had struggled since its inception. This was accomplished by implementing a multifaceted strategy that bridged retail and commercial segments. On the retail front, the focus remained steadfast on curating an unparalleled in-store experience for our customers. Simultaneously, from a commercial standpoint, we delved deep into understanding our clients' needs and hurdles, tailoring personalized service propositions to help streamline their business operations.
In 2017, an exciting opportunity arose for me to ascend to a leadership role tasked with overseeing the Bathroom Life Business in NSW and ACT. In this capacity, I led a team of Branch Managers and Business Development Managers, fostering a nurturing environment conducive to their growth as leaders through personalized development plans. Upholding and enriching the organizational culture while cultivating high-performing teams capable of surpassing budgets and strategic objectives were central tenets of my leadership philosophy.
Collaborating closely with my direct reports, I played a pivotal role in customer onboarding and nurturing existing relationships within the building industry. Furthermore, as a Region Leader, I served as a vital link between operational staff and Reece HQ, facilitating seamless communication and collaboration with key stakeholders in Merchandising, Marketing, and Logistics.
Another pivotal aspect of my role involved spearheading Sales Enablement and Training initiatives, encompassing comprehensive classroom-led sessions tailored for both the Bathroom Life business and the broader Reece network. Leveraging cutting-edge sales techniques and principles, I endeavored to cultivate a culture of operational excellence across all levels of the organization.
Through these sessions, I empowered teams with the knowledge and skills necessary to excel in their respective roles, equipping them with actionable strategies to drive sales growth and enhance customer satisfaction. By fostering a collaborative learning environment, I facilitated the exchange of best practices and insights, further fortifying our collective expertise and capabilities.
This commitment to continuous learning and development not only elevated individual performance but also contributed to the overall success and competitiveness of the organization in a dynamic market landscape.
In 2002, I decided to venture out by opening my own suburban Restaurant.
The restaurant seated 80 people with a crew of 16 staff.
I managed every aspect of the business: recruitment and training of staff, menu development, sourcing and selecting beverages and fresh produce, stock and cost control, bookkeeping and payroll. I provided great food and efficient, friendly service, ensuring a quality dining experience for my customers over 5 incredible years.
I had the privilege of joining a cherished family-owned restaurant during a pivotal growth phase from 1995 to 2002. What began as a single establishment blossomed into a 3 locations destinations under the management of our team.
Starting my journey as a Waiter, I swiftly transitioned into a role where I had the honor of overseeing operations at two of our locations. Central to my responsibility was ensuring the seamless continuity of operations and service standards across these establishments. By implementing and upholding a single system that ensured consistency, I contributed to maintaining our restaurant's renowned reputation for excellence across all venues.
