HD Fitter / Plant Mechanic on all CAT and KOMATSU 930E Equipment. (Surface – Workshop and Pit).

• Duties:
• Carryout planned maintenance services, ranging from, 250 hr, 500hr, 1000hr, 2000hr and 4000 hr on all CAT and KOMATSU 930E equipment.
• Major and Minor machine shut down (Component changeouts), Engines, Struts, Transmissions, Drop Box, Chassis, Circle Motor, Axle, Differentials, Blades, Final Drives, Bucket, Hydraulic Cylinders, Dozer Valves, Pumps, Nose cone, A-Frames, Duo con seals changeouts on ADT - CAT 740, CAT - D11T, CAT - D10T, CAT 789C, CAT 785C, CAT 793D, CAT 993K, CAT 994K and CAT 797F, Side Frames, Pivot Shafts, Equalizer bar pads, Telescopic cylinders, Radiator Cores, Track Chains, Rollers, Trunnions, Minor and Major bogies, Wheel stations, Sprockets, Ripper assembly, Push arms, Brake Groups, Tandems etc.
• Perform Machine upgrade PIP / PSP and CTS on Dozer Undercarriage.
• Test repaired equipment for proper performance and ensure that work meet Manufacturers specifications.
• Interpret work orders and Technical manuals.
• Clean, Lubricate and perform other routine maintenance work on equipment.
• Inspect equipment to detect faults and Malfunction.
• Efficient in replacing defective parts or reassembling parts and referring to service Manuals as required.
• Ability to work with a sense of urgency while still maintaining safe work practices.
• Able to use SIS, eg to get part numbers or torque specs.
• Able to diagnose and repair equipment in a timely and effective manner.
• Conduct Mechanical Repairs and Overhauls on all Engines, Transmission, Park Brake Assemblies, Hydraulic / Water Pumps and Final Drives.
• Able to use Vainer Caliper or Dial Gauge and take the readings.
• Carryout Half-Life maintenance schedule on all CAT equipment.
• Able to check pressures and adjust if it is out of manufacturers specifications.
• Carryout articulation repairs on all CAT equipment e.g., M18 and M24 graders, ADT 740, CAT 993K, CAT 994F and CAT 994K.
• Performed preventive maintenance on equipment, extending machinery lifespan and reliability.
• Collaborated with supervisors to prioritize workload and optimize service delivery schedules.
• Implemented safety protocols during repairs, promoting compliance with industry standards.
• Improved equipment reliability by performing necessary repairs on various machinery.
• Reduced downtime, ensuring timely repairs and maintenance of heavy machinery and vehicles used in daily operations.

• Plumbing and Hose re-routing.
• Front and Rear Strut changeouts and Charging to the manufacturer’s specifications.
• Doing any other tasks as delegated by my Supervisor.
• Complete Paperwork and do Comprehensive Hand Over’s.
• Housekeeping – Clean as we go Culture.

• Heavy Equipment Repair Mechanic on all CAT, KOMATSU and BELL Equipment. (Surface – Workshop and Pit).
• DUTIES:
• Major and Minor machine shut down e.g., Engines, Transmissions, Drop Box, Chassis, Circle Motors, Axles, A – Frames, Blades, Hydraulic Cylinders, Dozer Valves, Nose Cone, Telescopic Cylinders, Minor and Major Bogies, Pivot Shafts, Buckets, Track Chains, Tandems, Side Frames etc.
• Carrying out routine Mechanical Maintenance Services e.g., 250 hr, 500 hr, 1000hr, 2000hr and 4000hr (Komatsu Dump Trucks).
• Ensured adherence to safety regulations during all repair activities, promoting workplace safety culture.
• Selected hand tools, power tools and precision measuring instruments according to task requirements.
• Performed routine maintenance and repairs on heavy equipment such as bulldozers and backhoes.
• Collaborated with team of technicians to complete projects and meet deadlines.
• Removed worn or faulty components for replacement or repair.

• Undercarriage Repairs on Dozers e.g., CAT D10T. Replacing Worn-out Idlers, Leaking Telescopic and Equalizer end pin Seals, Pivot shaft and Pivot Shaft Seals.
• Conduct Mechanical Repairs and Overhauls on all Engines, Transmission, Park Brakes, Hydraulic Components, Pumps and Final Drives.
• Carryout Half-Life Maintenance schedule on all CAT Equipment.
• Able to use Vainer Caliper and Tetra Gauge.
• Plumbing and Hose Re-routing.
• Doing any other Task as Delegated by My Supervisor.
• Complete Paperwork and do comprehensive Hand Overs.
• Good Housekeeping.

• Coordinated scheduled maintenance on all the Machines, Clean, Lubricate and perform other routine maintenance work on equipment.
• Conduct Safety awareness meetings when chosen.
• Break downs and Planned repairs.
• Major and Minor machine rebuilds on all underground Caterpillar and Atlas Copco machines.
• All time contamination control system.
• Pre-shift checks on all the machines before they are sent to work.
• Good House Keeping.

• Major and Minor component change out on all Light Vehicles and Trucks.
• Carryout planned Routine Maintenance services.
• Delivering goods throughout the country, including neighboring countries.
• Engine, Injection pump and Ignition timing.
• Engine Valve Lash checking and adjustment.
• Changing tires on both Light and Heavy Vehicles.
• Brake shoe installation and adjustment.
• Basic Knowledge of welding.
• Re-charging batteries of all sizes.
• Changing damaged or broken center bolt and laminated springs.
• Replacing blown bulbs in Head lamps and glow plugs.
• Replacing damaged or bent drive lines.
• Doing any other tasks as delegated by my workshop foreman.
• Good Housekeeping.

• Diagnosed and repaired light vehicles before driving them to the shipyard in redness for shipping.
• Modifying of right-hand vehicles to left hand.

• Motor vehicle dismantling – Including Nose cut and Full cut.
