PHYSIOTHERAPIST 02/2021 to Current 

Uniting Care Health | TWH, SAWMH, SSPH, Brisbane Qld

  • Conducted clinical assessment and evaluation to determine patient needs
  • Managed acute and chronic conditions with a higher level of understanding regarding complex therapy needs and discharge planning.
  • Managed a high-volume caseload and organised daily clinical handovers, surgical lists and allied health assistant schedules.
  • Assisted in training and orientating new staff members across sites.
  • Facilitated and participated in a variety of quality improvement projects aimed to improve our delivery of patient centred care. This included a major project at SSPH in updating all orthopaedic joint replacement patients handouts. At TWH, I created a brachial plexus injury and torticollis assessment service. This involved creating an educational inservice for staff, a work instruction for staff, collation of appropriate resources and liaison with paediatricians.
  • Became trained in the use of electronic medical records and eMR clinical documentation.
  • Gained valuable experience working in a regional setting, learning how to provide best patient centred care with limited resources and services.
  • Presented various complex clinical case studies and inservices to the MDTs on the topics of Spinal Cord Injury Management, Adult Sepsis and Acute Respiratory Failure Management, Brachial Plexus Injury and Gynaecological Surgery and Endometriosis Management.

  • In the rehab setting, I assisted in patient transfers to the physio gym, exercise prescription and providing ward treatments.
  • I assisted in supervision and training new staff on polices and procedures in the acute and rehabilitation settings.
