A committed and professional Enrolled Nurse with over 10 years of experience in providing care and promoting recovery and healthy living behaviors to clients in hospital settings. Currently in my final semester as a Bachelor of Health Sciences student, majoring in Health Promotion and Addiction Studies. Passionate about promoting health within the community and eager to continue growing and learning to enhance my skills.

• Demonstrated by maintaining good grades despite being full time work and family commitments, showing a commitment to academic excellence.

Communication

• Demonstrated during night shift by preparing comprehensive theatre paper work for a patient going for surgery, documenting in progress notes and giving a clear and thorough handover which was well-received by the morning shift.
• Demonstrated by effectively communicating a treatment plan to a worried patient going for a complex surgery the next morning, ensuring that they understood what was required of them, including the need to fast and shower early, and answering all their concerns with empathy.

Research Skills

• Demonstrated by collecting and analyzing data during a hand hygiene audit , identifying trends and presenting to the ward manager.
• Demonstrated by collecting data for hospital ward KPIs on patient falls and other measures, and presenting to the ward manager.
• Studied research and analytical units such as Statistics, Health Research Methodology, Health Research Project which involved a project on research and survey designing.

Interpersonal Skills

• Demonstrated by mediating a conflict that occurred between two nurses over differing opinions on patient care, which happened in front of the patient. This involved facilitating a meeting away from the patient, actively listening and acknowledging each nurse as they expressed their concerns and guiding them towards finding a common ground by suggesting that we review the current policy, which then led to an agreement and resolved the conflict.
• Demonstrated daily by showing empathy and active listening when communicating with patients which enhances patient satisfaction and a positive work environment.

Team work

• Demonstrated by assisting a colleague assess, safely transfer and seek medical treatment for her patient who had had a fall, which led to timely and effective patient care.
• Demonstrated daily when collaborating with colleagues during team nursing by listening and respecting their suggestions and being aware of how my actions may affect others.

• Demonstrated by participating in education and training sessions at work and applying the knowledge when attending to patients from diverse backgrounds, such as respecting patients who prefer female nurses only and making my colleagues aware.
