  • Currently I am the Heavy Vehicle National Law Advisor and Laydown Yard Supervisor on Cross River Rail CBGU JV Brisbane. The first 5 roles listed on this resume are roles I have been responsible for on the different projects within my 12 years with CPB
  • My responsibilities are but not limited to, Creating and analysing/reviewing CRR CBGU JV Project HVNL Management Plan. Analysing/reviewing Chain of Responsibility Management Plans from sub-contractors prior to the contract being awarded, and whilst they are on the project ensuring they have met all requirements of the Heavy Vehicle National Law (HVNL) and all our contract requirements. Auditing random sub-contractors HVNL Management Plans to ensure they are doing what they have stated in their plans. Development of and delivery of training packages regarding HVNL and project requirements so everyone in the Chain of Responsibility has the necessary skills and knowledge to successfully do their role within the HVNL. Development of HVNL Toolbox talks to be delivered across site. Liaising with the Engineering teams when they have sub-contractor deliveries occurring and analyse the information provided by these sub-contractors ensuring they are operating within the HVNL and load restraint plans, journey management plans and NHVR permits have been provided. I also do random and targeted HVNL audits on the drivers and the vehicles, ensuring compliance with rosters/fatigue, licencing and inductions, knowledge of the vehicle and its weight limits and vehicle roadworthiness. Reporting and investigating HVNL incidents when they occur.
  • Cross River Rail CBGU JV Hamilton Laydown Operations.
  • Supervising a team of 15-20 employees. Liaising with our in-house civil, construction, electrical teams and contractors (3PL) to coordinate and schedule deliveries of all materials needed to site from external suppliers. I am responsible for liaising with external suppliers and transport companies for the expediting of materials including dangerous goods to the project when these materials are needed, also materials reporting into project operating systems such as share point. I also review Safe Work Method Statements (SWMS), Risk Assessments and assist in coordinating safety emergency procedures in our laydown yard. I conduct the laydown yards site inductions along with Supervisor Observations for the safe operation of plant i.e. forklift, telehandler, franna etc. I am one of the laydown yards Advanced First Aiders and I am Deputy ERT Leader and develop and deliver Daily Pre-Start

  • The HVNL role was the same as CRR JV. I reported to the Project Safety Manager and assisted on other safety matters such as investigations.
  • One notable point was in November 2018 Roads and Maritime Services conducted an Audit of the project and the HVNL Department did not receive any actions and got a Notable Practice which stated, “Comprehensive monitoring program and training packages”.

  • Below is a brief description of my responsibilities on both projects but mainly APLNG as role were similar.
  • Liaising with our in-house civil, construction, electrical teams and contractors to coordinate and schedule deliveries of all materials needed to site from external suppliers, free issue material from the client for the stage we are at within the project. Our project covered 5-600 sq km. I was responsible for liaising with external suppliers and transport companies for the expediting of materials to the project when these materials are needed, also materials reporting into company operating systems such as SPMAT and weekly materials reports to internal stakeholders. I also review Safe Work Method Statements (SWMS), Risk Assessments and assist in coordinating safety emergency procedures in our laydown yards. At the peak of the project in my charge was a fleet of 13 heavy vehicles, 3 cranes 6 light vehicles, forklifts and telehandlers with a materials handling team, transport and Crane Crew of 33 personnel. I was responsible for the project Chain of Responsibility and Advanced Fatigue Management for which we were audited by a 3rd party and passed each year. I also wrote the procedures for the project and developed training plans.
