Hospital Coordinator/ Bed Manager

  • Managerial lead of the coordination of 60 medical, surgical, rehab bedded facility and overseeing the clinical coordination/management of peri-operative theatre.
  • Proficient in risk screening of admissions, fund check process for our private patients and how to admit patients as public/private patients for accuracy.
  • Clinical afterhours lead ensuring patient concerns/ deterioration are addressed promptly- utilising graded assertiveness skills to overcome barriers. For instance- to ensure deteriorating patient concerns to VMO were addressed, in collaboration with RMO On-Call and executive team for patient safety.
  • Management assessment of our PICC lines-from leading the clinical training of staff in PICC sterile technique in re-dressing for staff in practice, how to measure external PICC length for consistency, ensuring staff are aware of key parts and turbulent flushing technique to ensure PICC lines remain patent.
  • Helped de-escalate a patient before a complaint was raised which identified delays in patient cares- clear communication, collaborating with our patients & in respect.
  • Demonstrated experience of coordination, allocation of staff appropriately to align with staffing to patient KPI, ensure patient/ staff safety maintained; and mirroring budgetary requirements.

  • Successfully lead the learning and development of 170 staff from: Allied health team, Rehab and surgical ward staff. Administration services and Food and kitchen services. Ensuring mandatory training compliance with Healthscope KPI of 92% for all mandatory training, running hospital orientation, planning fortnightly/ impromptu in-services for staff based on organizational needs, training new staff for the service, compliance monitoring through running regular reports and ensuring feedback received is actioned on by planning further training to cover educational gaps analysis.
  • I also ensure handovers are monitored to align with ISBAR best practice, being a resource for training staff in PICC/Portacath CVAD accessing, dressing/use and ensure appropriate flushing technique. I am the clinical lead for clinical deterioration and Standard 8. I am the hospital ALS/BLS instructor, Manual handling champion and fit tester. I have also run three CSR (Critical Systems Reviews) and three HAC (Hospital Acquired Complications) on looking at processes and ensuring corrections occur, aligning with evidence-based practice.
