During my employment at IAS for four and a half months on daily bases, my main duties were:

• Grain storing bulkhead building
• Manual bulkhead hardware handling

• Stitching tarps on stack
• Tarp maintenance work(Shed-based work: Checking old tarps for holes and defects, marking, patching, stitching tarps together with special stitching machine)
• Working 10-12 hour workdays in nightshift.

• Dismantling bulkheads at end of season
• Fast- paced and physically high demanding work

While working in Parkside Towbars as a accessory fitter my main daily duties were>

• Fitting tow bars on different vehicle classifications (SUV, small cars ,vans, UTEs. Also done numerous fits on Rio Tinto mine spec vehicles(Mine spec tow bars))
• Front bull bars on on all kinds of vehicle classifications
• Electric trailer brake controller systems
• Electronic sidesteps for SUV's

Seasonal tree planting and revegetation job for farm days;

• Tree planting and revegetation for farmers all over the state and government roadside jobs.
• Supported landscaping operations in various locations using design and functionality as paramount principles.
• Transporting trees with 1,5T trailer
• Physically demanding(Averaging 20-25 km constant walking a day)
• Manual planting with tree planting pipe(pottiputki).

ES-Racing Performance is a multi-workshop that deals with all kinds of repair works on wide range of vehicles (cars,vans,trucks,jet-skis etc.),offers services and support to motorsport teams,building project cars for clients,servicing and repairing hobby cars,track cars,race cars,building engines etc. As assumed from a company dealing with these areas,we had a dyno in our house which is referred as one of the top ones in Estonia. We were dealing with ECU Re-maps on variety of daily driven vehicles and also tuning built hobby and race cars that clients brought to our workshop.We had lots of and jobs related to diagnosing electrical faults and troubleshooting fault codes

and according to the faults ,trying to fix the problem right away if possible.(we had to deal with lots of jobs that were usually rejected from other workshops because the lack of knowledge or equipment).

My main tasks daily:

• Regular service which included changing fluids and filters and checking the whole car.
• Automatic or manual gearbox removal and re-mounting(Diagnosed in house,sent to our partner to do the repairs in Latvia usually).
• Clutch,torque converter or hydraulic block (automatic gearboxes) changes
• Diagnosing and repairing forced induction systems(Leak testings,turbo removals and re-installs)
• Minor electrical jobs and diagnoses
• Brake system servicing,diagnosing,repairing.
• Fuel system diagnostics and repairing on petrol and diesels(Injectors,pump-injectors,High pressure fuel pumps etc.)
• Engine repair jobs on both diesel and petrol engines.
• Fabrication jobs(using MIG almost on daily basis ,also have experience with TIG)
• Undercarriage repair jobs (changing components,installing rubber or polyurethane bushings,bearings,changing springs and shocks)

1. Building hallways and two 21 storey staircases on a cruise ship 'Mein Schiff 6' :

• Install border glasses for stairs
• Install stainless handrails for stairs
• Install stainless handrails in hallways
• Install stainless handrails in bigger halls
• Install stainless trim and rubber seals for glasses

Our job in short was to install glasses in staircases and and handrails in hallways. Those were thick glued double glasses 2.5 x 1,5 by size,all glasses were labeled and numbered and had to be positioned in exact floor and in exact order. Carried glasses from outside deck through the whole ship by hand. Same was with stainless handrails throughout staircases .Handrails had to be but in place with screws(into aluminium sandwich plate walls) or welded with TIG and polished welds afterwards(if they were for stairs)

2.Changing Industrial Ventilating Centrifugal Blower fan(weight 3.5t) with two heater cores and whole surrounding assembly(About the size of 3 full size apartment flats on top of each other)

• Disassembly of surrounding construction
• Disassembly of ventilator from ground
• Disassembly of heater cores(weighing a few tonnes each)
• Operating parts out of room through the roof(Done by specialized crane operator with our instructions from inside)
• Assembly of new vent system and core outside
• Operating details inside
• Assembly of whole new ventilator,heater cores and surroundings.

Object was a two storey apartment building that was going through a renovation,my tasks on this site were:

• Preparing the under-surface
• Mixing concrete
• Cutting and installing the wool
• Leveling the wall

Second object in this company was a 5 storey apartment building where we had to cut down and safely lower to the ground all the balcony walls that where made with metal structure and covered with roof sheet,used securing clamps and ropes to lower the details manually.

Regular maintenance job,such as:

• Regular oil changes
• Carrying out regular maintenance overall (Liquids,filters)
• Suspension and chassis check and repair if needed
• Troubleshooting and checking the whole car
• Valve clearance adjustment during services
• Changing any kind of spare parts if needed
• Tire change and wheel balancing(on the tire changing seasons,full days of tire changing and balancing for few weeks or even a month in a row)
• Wheel alignment
• Servicing the brakes and operating on a brake checking machine for MOT pass
• Checking paintwork damages for warranty.

Had to go through an internet learning courses for all the newest Honda models and pass the tests regularly. Filling in the papers for every maintenance and keeping a record for cars.

This was my first ever position working as a car mechanic after the decision to start to learn the trade. In order to get my trade,i needed to finish two mechanical practices. So on,school had taken us to a little tour to some of the workshops in Tallinn where we could do our practices. This was one of them and i decided to get in touch with them afterwards and that is how it started. it was a local dealership for Japanese cars (Mainly Hyundai,Seat,Izusu and Suzuki).Did my first school practice in there for few weeks to get the taste.

I spent my days beside an experienced mechanic getting to know things like work procedures, tools used, papers that need filling to record the service, general housekeeping etc.

I got the hold of things quite fast and they let me to do some minor checks and jobs myself under the supervision of mechanic. Got my practice days done for this time.

Second school practice came and without further ado i decided to go to the same place i had been last year,because we already had a great relationship and they appreciated me. I started working under another mechanic this time and my practice period that i needed for school was scheduled longer this time(about 2 months).At the second half of my last practice i already had my own workbench and they kept my working in there for the whole summer between my schools years because i had developed enough independent work experience by the time.

Jobs that needed to be carried out in the workshop:

• Performed routine maintenance and repairs on vehicles
• Brake system checks,servicing and repairs if needed(Troubleshooting everything on roller brake tester and checking my work also after service)
• Wheel alignment (Occasional and after repairs)
• Changing wheels and tires (During season had a few weeks rollercoaster)
• Chassis check and repairs.
• Documenting my work and work times on paper and in workshops computer.
• Pre-purchase and pre-MOT inspections
