Gilbert Grayson

This is my own Car Detailing business which I set up myself after finishing my A-levels. I grew this from my own capital, teaching myself how to prepare and clean vehicles to a high standard via my own research. Within two months, I had grown this to a point where I was receiving three to four cars weekThis has given me a valuable insight into the skills required to run a successful business: finance management, interpersonal skills with clients, and a dedicated work ethic. Furthermore, this has also led to me developing my marketing skills, for which I have a passion: designing and making flyers, business cards, and creating short-form content in the form of Reels and TikToks, which I post on my social media.

I was a crew member at Markham Moor McDonald's from February 2023 to December 2024. I became a fully trained member, working across all areas of the business, from the kitchen, customer service, drive-through, and also cleaning. I found this role invaluable for taking me out of my comfort zone and building my confidence to a level where I enjoy engaging with customers, feel confident dealing with conflicts, and complete tasks to the best of my ability. I feel like I became an important and reliable member of staff.

My first part-time job was at a local civil engineering firm cleaning there small office. My job responsibilities included keeping the canteen and office clean, refilling the fridges and condiments, taking out the rubbish as well as cleaning the toilets. Due to the environment of the workers, it could get especially dirty. Therefore, this taught me to take pride in my work and develop the grounds of effective work ethic.
