  • As Nominated Supervisor for TAS Early Learning Centres and Outside School Hours Care my duties entail but not limited to supporting and mentoring educators, teachers and assistant coordinators to ensure that all four services provide the highest quality of service for families and education and care for children.
  • In addition I managed compliance, quality improvement, accounts, rosters, budgets, purchasing and liaison with Government Departments to ensure legislation requirements as well as liaison with representatives of Trinity Anglican School.
  • I managed a team of 13 educators across two campuses with the vision of ensuring that children transition well from our Early Learning and Kindergarten programs to Prep and OSHC.
  • My role required working with the school representatives to ensure that the early learning services provide a smooth transition to school, helping to create new business models for Kindergarten and Early Learning and recently providing support for our newly appointed Assistant Coordinator of OSHC to receive an Assessment and Rating outcome of Meeting (from the previous outcome of Working Towards).
  • The most rewarding part of my role is to support our team who are spread between four services spread across Cairns. It has been our vision to ensure that all educators feel they belong to the team and that their talents, skills, knowledge and ideas are valued.
  • As a team we value a collaborative environment and continually strive to ensure that we reflect on our environment and interactions with each other.

  • My role as Centre Manager included the re-launch of an existing centre.
  • The centre was in need of a manager to establish a positive reputation in the community, provide excellent customer service and therefore increase occupancy, hire a qualified team of educators and provide quality care and education for the children.
  • Once established the role of manager entailed the implementation and management of compliance, quality improvement, accounts, rosters, budgets, purchasing and liaison and communications with families, government agencies and the community.
  • The role of Educational leader included working with a team of senior educators to mentor and train educators to understand and implement the Early Years Learning Framework and the National Quality Framework and Standards, including holding workshops for all G8 Centres in the Cairns area regarding the NQF.
  • In addition the role also included collaboration with Teachers, to provide a comprehensive Curriculum format that is easy to follow and adheres to the NQF and Standards and the requirements listed by G8 Education.

  • I was hired for one year to cover the Maternity Leave of the previous Director & to obtain an Accreditation Certificate for the Centre.
  • During this time the Centre successfully acquired Accreditation at a High level.
  • The process included conflict resolution for staff, behaviour management for children, application of routine & policy, application of health & nutrition for children, policy & philosophy review, debt management, utilising computer programs for bookings, finances & wages, staff training, implementation & review of current programming practices, parent liaison & Centre Marketing, managing day to day running of the business.
  • In addition I was asked to act as a Support Manager for two other Centres. One Centre was also undergoing Accreditation and was in need of additional training, staff liaison and the application of policy. This Centre successfully gained an Accreditation Certificate.
