Gina Steinberg

Gina is a dedicated, ambitious and hard-working Masters of Clinical Psychology student, at The Cairnmillar Institute. With a passion for research and psychopathology, Gina endeavours to expand her knowledge base so as to make a meaningful contribution to the lives of others. Gina is a competent and organised individual, who has always balanced many demanding commitments, making her a trainable and ideal candidate for clinical training. Gina hopes to refine her already acquired clinical and research skills to explore severe and complex mental health conditions using evidence-based-practice.

Lifeline (May 2022- present)

Crisis Supporter

• Assist help-seekers facing a range of issues, including: abuse, trauma, bereavement, relationship troubles, financial stresses and suicidal ideation.
• Developed various microskills and improved my communication skills through handling imminent and non-imminent suicidal help-seekers.
• Empower individuals through the creation and development of safety plans as well as reduction and containment of disabling emotions.
• Ability to assert boundaries and engage with reflective practice, and increased my self-awareness through regular supervision.

• Curtin University Scholarship: Received 1 of 9 "John Curtin Undergraduate Scholarships", which invests in future leaders who intend to use their abilities and passion to lead positive change in the community. The scholarship is awarded to students who have excelled in a wide range of endeavours, and have lent their talents and energies to the community around them.
