* Assessing signs and symptoms indicating physiologic and psychological

changes in patients' condition.

* Assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating patient care plans in consultation with health care professionals.

* Evaluating medical information, as well as providing direct and

individualized bedside nursing care to patients including pre and

post-operative care.

* Preparing, administering and recording prescribed medications including IV drugs.

* Changing wound dressings, catheter insertions, nasogastric tube feeding

etc.

* Monitoring patients' vital signs and reporting any concerns to medical

team in a timely

manner.

* Use effective communication, written and verbal with all levels of staff including the multidisciplinary team, patients and relatives.

* Maintain a safe environment when caring for patients, including those patients requiring frequent level of monitoring.

* Participate in the health education and explanation of treatments to

patients and relatives.

* Maintain and update patient files, medical charts and health records.

* Ensure trainings are attended in a timely fashion agreed by the WardMatron.

* Guiding, supervising and teaching nursing students during their placements on the ward.

*Dealing with complex discharges.

*Communication with patients and family.

*Delegate work for junior staff members and support them.

* Work as team leader when needed.
