The role of Undergraduate Student in Nursing (USIN), provides me to explore and grow in various clinical areas of the hospitals, helping Educators and Clinical Facilitators for support.

• Supported by Educators and Clinical Facilitators while gaining experience.
• Responsibilities include assisting Nurses and healthcare professionals in delivering patient-centered care.
• Tasks involve managing a workload of 1-2 patients, conducting clinical assessments, observing patients, assessing wounds, documenting findings, and participating in patient handovers.
• Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in patient rooms and equipment, adhering to infection control protocols.
• Offer emotional support and comfort to patients, actively listening to their concerns and needs.

Patient care Assistant role:

• Provide compassionate patient care and support under the supervision of registered nurses.
• Assist patients with ADLs.
• Support patients with mobility issues, aiding in safe transfers and mobility exercises.
• Conduct observations on patients, promptly reporting any changes in condition to nursing staff.
• Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in patient rooms and equipment, adhering to infection control protocols.
• Offer emotional support and comfort to patients, actively listening to their concerns and needs.

Wardsman Responsibilities:

• Ensure cleanliness and orderliness in hospital wards, including patient rooms, corridors, and common areas.
• Assist in all hospital codes e.g code blue (CPR)
• Incorporated duties associated with the morgue, ensuring respectful handling and processing of deceased individuals by hospital protocols and regulatory requirements.
• Collect and dispose of waste and hazardous materials by hospital policies.
• Transport patients safely within the hospital premises, using appropriate mobility aids when necessary.
• Assist nursing staff in setting up and maintaining medical equipment and supplies.
• Provide assistance during emergencies and patient transfers, following established protocols.
• Collaborate with nursing and support staff to maintain a safe and comfortable environment for patients and staff.

Areas i have worked in the hospital are:

Emergency, Intensive care, Cardiac, Orthopaedics, Surgical, Medical, Day Surgery, Rehabilitation Wards, Oncology.
