My background as a competitive rugby player and current involvement in marathon training have provided me with firsthand insight into the nutritional demands, physical challenges, and psychological resilience required in sport. Competing at a high level in rugby taught me the importance of fuelling for performance, recovery, and injury prevention, while endurance running has deepened my understanding of periodised nutrition strategies, hydration, and energy management over prolonged activity. These experiences have not only enhanced my appreciation for the science underpinning sports nutrition but have also driven my passion to apply evidence-based dietary interventions to optimise athletic performance.

Accomplishments

  • I have consistently demonstrated excellence in both sport and academics. As a junior athlete, I represented my state in cross country at the U16, U17, and U18 levels, and held multiple leadership roles including High School Sports Captain, First XV Rugby Captain, and Captain of the Queensland U17 Rugby 7s team. Academically, I received a Silver Academic Award and the Queensland Catholic Education Award in year 12. At university, I showed initiative and determination by independently securing a professional placement with the Brisbane Broncos, becoming one of the first QUT students to undertake this unique opportunity, which allowed me to integrate high-performance sports nutrition practice with my studies. These achievements reflect my leadership, perseverance, and ability to create opportunities that align with my passion for sports dietetics.
