  • Reporting directly to the Managing director of the company
  • Established and built up a service department for refrigeration and air conditioning employing 14 technicians, 4 apprentices as well as setting up an administration department that included a service coordinator
  • Built up the service side of the business including employing 2 admin staff to carry out service coordinating and invoicing
  • Implemented software packages for the running of the service department for invoicing, purchase orders
  • Implementation and introduction of new electronic paper less systems
  • This was incorporated with Ipads and smart phones this replaced service forms and orders generated from the office saving time for both in the office and the personnel in the field
  • Each service technician was also issued with a company email address and access to the internet
  • Set up service office in Sydney, after been in operation for 11 months I closed this operation as it was difficult to break into the local industry while trying to expand into PNG and looking after local customers while trying to grow the service business virtually on my own
  • Set up servicing of refrigeration equipment in various states including Queensland of our customers by local contractors this included monitoring works carried out and scrutinising any repairs / corrective work that required to be quoted
  • Dealing with various contractors arranging quotations for customers to carry out corrective work that was for various repairs and maintenance in Queensland and other states for work around their sites
  • Visit and established on going service work in PNG and the Solomon Islands

  • Involved with designing roller conveyor for feeding into –26 degrees centigrade cold rooms which is one of the best in the group
  • Better control and unnecessary breakdowns at Bayhead Cold Storage
  • Set-up a preventative maintenance program and logging system
  • I carried out repairs that my predecessor indicated could not be carried out unless a great amount of money was spent to correct them
  • I carried out these repairs very cost effectively
  • With this and many other corrective work and upgrades this earned me the trust and respect from the chairman of the group of companies
  • Successfully converted a large blast freezer to store high quality export chilled meat that had to be stored at a constant 0.8 degrees centigrade without even slight freezing product in boxes located on the outside of the pallets as this was monitored by the customer constantly
  • Achieving this temperature enabled our company to offer what no other company could offer with guarantied success in the state
  • The storage of this high quality product for export greatly increased the income for the company
  • Set-up safety reps and fire fighting teams at both plants
  • Implemented remote access to both sites to allow off site monitoring
  • This computer logs temperature, pressures and controls cold rooms and compressors and was the first within the group of companies
  • Started with procedures for ISO 9000
  • Led cross-functional teams for successful product development, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to specifications.
  • Evaluated vendor proposals to ensure high-quality materials were sourced at competitive prices while maintaining strong relationships with suppliers.
